Pros

- Lots of opportunities to expand my skillsets. As a fresh out of college hire, I've been asked to help with aspects of project managing, data entry, reception, office management, and digital media creation. - CS being a small company makes it possible to engage in meaningful projects. I was hired for reception, but in the first week they had me come along to a big event as a photographer. I've edited photos, designed graphics and documents, and now I'm producing photos and interviews for an upcoming revamp to our website. - Despite putting on so many hats, I haven't been overworked or overly stressed out. Very understandable bosses who expect good work, but don't place impossible expectations. It's easy to be motivated to put out quality work. - Company policies like PTO and holidays are straightforward and tend to be in line with other competitors - Diverse set of coworkers of various age ranges and backgrounds. Pretty easy to get along with people around the office. - While HVAC is a very specific and technical industry, there's a lot of admin and non-technical positions that are required. It is very interesting to learn more about the industry as you work here.

Cons

- Making larger purchases ($100+) for the company will involve a lot of research and jumping through hoops to get approval. You learn how to barter and haggle at the cost of your sanity. - Like any small business, you may get roped into being asked to do things that aren't part of your job description. As long as you prioritize and push back a little, they'll understand. - Critical Systems shares its office space with another company and some of the people in that company can be weird and unfriendly.

Pros

CS is a small company with an amazing company culture. They are dedicated to promoting sustainable and energy efficient projects. There is no micromanaging, and the senior partners empower their employees to achieve success.

Cons

As with all small companies, CS is still getting off the ground with some processes, but nothing earth shattering.
