Pros
True open door policies make it easy to connect with anyone within the organization. Employees at any level have the opportunity to directly contact or speak with many members of the executive team. This is very valuable and refreshing.
Cons
Toxic work culture built around silencing employees with grievances. Performance management is biased, inconsistent, and at times non-existent. No compensation structure exists. Decision making is best described as “fly by the seat of your pants”, which creates gross inequities in many areas across the organization. This is a company that is solely focused on keeping its head above water financially. No strategies exist to improve any other functioning area of the business. Organization lacks diversity overall, but most notably at the highest levels.
