Pros
The pros of working at Crystal was that it's a fairly solid job and there is SOME latitude to define what you want to do there. You can suggest new ideas and as long as you're willing to push for them, some of them might be adopted. The engineering department is full of smart people -- all very talented and experienced in their skill set. As far as company culture, it's probably a good culture for certain people: if you enjoy talking about sports, don't get too intense about details, or the day to day, you'll be fine there.
Cons
Pay was decent but by no means amazing. The company shifted after it was acquired and it's a very procedural, top down management style now. Much less room for creativity, thinking out of the box. Working harder for recognition is difficult because no one is in a position to recognize or reward any one else's accomplishment. But as I said, it's a solid job.
