Pros
There is a degree of freedom, as you will work alone quite a bit, which is nice. If you are running a successful store, your district manager will trust you to make most of the decisions regarding your store, provided they don't cost too much money. Customers are great! I love my customers!
Cons
There are so many downsides to this company right now. I am absolutely sure that they do not care about the people on the ground at all. We are scolded for minor cosmetic issues on the rare occasion that someone from corporate shows up. There is no recognition for the money we bring in or good work we do. We have a bonus structure created solely to keep us from making 'too much' money. My store bonus has gone from around 300 a month to around 100, or less, despite the fact that we increase occupancy in our store nearly monthly, and that's a situation that's not going to change anytime soon due to the overinflated monthly budget goal we are required to reach to get the bare minimum. The maintenance!! It's a huge con. A maintenance staff member hired to float between properties would be an easy fix to this, but I don't see that happening. I'll add one more con for anyone in corporate that may be reading this..rate increases this year were much too high. We have to justify these 10, 20, and 30 per cube increases to our customers, many of whom have 2 or 3 cubes, and telling them that we have to 'look out for our shareholders', as suggested, just doesn't cut it.
