The switch from a user-friendly project management software to an archaic software that matched up with their accounting system was a killer to the company culture. Suddenly, everyone was in a bad mood.
When reflecting on companies of a similar size or larger, there is a considerable ratio of SVPs and higher "managing" the company. For the 100-130 headcount, I think there are at least 10 SVPs and higher, if not more. There are at least 3-4 longterm employees (6+ years) that have a well-established perception among employees of "what do they even do?"
