Pros

Good culture and benefits. Executive leadership seems to care about its employees. Very understanding of family and life events. Does seem to care about its customer base and helping educators.

Cons

Could not recommend this as a place to work now. Too many big lies have happened. The company for years was sold as a place that was going to stay independently owned . Yet, as soon as the former owner retired we were sold within a year. Additionally, other departments can have a major influence on your review, even overriding your own manager, causing reviews to be given which are not entirely fair and extremely one sided. This affects your bonus and yearly raise, and working hard seems to matter very little if someone in another department dislikes you, but will not talk to you about it. You find out about your problems at your review with no warning or ability to respond or course correct, if they exist at all. The company positively reinforces bad behavior by promoting individuals who are toxic and also bad leaders. As long as results are done, and other trampled over, that’s all that matters. Lastly, the company just seems to be becoming a bit of a cult. They think they are so great and amazing, but really they are just another place to work. It’s sad to see CA come to this as I did Love this company. They are slowly losing their head and soul and overtime this will lead to unhappiness, mismanagement and bloat.

We're sorry to read that CA wasn't the best professional fit for you. It sounds like you experienced a uniquely unfortunate situation that cannot be resolved on an anonymous forum like Glassdoor. As a company that values and invites critique and input from employees at every level of the organization, we greatly appreciate you sharing your feedback with CA as it will allow us to continually improve. - Shrina

Pros

CA is a great company. I really appreciate how employee focused the company is and how important culture seems to be.

Cons

We stay very busy but there is room for better pay, considering the amount of work we all do. The pay at CA for inside sales is well below what other EdTech companies pay for the same or similar roles.

Pros

Before working at Curriculum Associates, I was an elementary teacher using i-Ready in my classroom for both reading and math. It was such an important resource to me... so much so that I actually remember Googling "how to work for i-Ready" because I wanted to learn more about the company behind it! That eventually led me to the EdTech Fellowship, which gave me the chance to see the corporate side of education after only really knowing the classroom side. I really enjoyed the fellowship and knew pretty quickly that I wanted to stay at CA if there was ever an opportunity. I’ve now been here for almost two years and have had the unique experience of being in the fellowship, a temporary role, and now a full-time role. I’ve truly had a great experience in each stage and have felt supported as I’ve continued to grow and learn. One thing I really appreciate about CA is how mission-aligned people are. As someone who has been both a teacher using the product and now an employee working behind the scenes, I can say that people here care about supporting teachers and students. That shared purpose makes the work feel meaningful and makes it easy to feel connected to the people around you!!

Cons

The transition from teaching into the corporate world can come with a learning curve (which I think the Ed Tech Fellowship really helped with!)

Thank you so much for sharing this. It’s especially meaningful to hear from someone who first experienced i-Ready in the classroom and later joined the team through the EdTech Fellowship. We’re so glad to hear you’ve felt supported throughout each stage of your journey at Curriculum Associates. Knowing that the mission and care for teachers and students has felt genuine both inside and outside the classroom means a lot to us. We also appreciate you mentioning the transition from teaching into the corporate world. That shift can definitely come with a learning curve, and we’re glad the fellowship helped make it feel more approachable. Thank you again for sharing your experience and for being part of the team!
