Sinking Ship - Anonymous Cybercrime Support Network Employee Review

Pros

Remote work is the only plus.

Cons

The culture is non-existent and the environment is toxic. Many people have lost their jobs throughout 2022 so the company can stay in business a little longer. Job insecurity and upper mgmt who don't trust anyone are common. The mission is a joke - the company is just a website of tips that you can find (faster) on AARP and other sites, and they have just one program that serves very few people. Be warned - this is a sinking ship.

Pros

The staff is so productive and truly cares about helping people, stays true to the mission. Great work/life balance, 32 hour work week, unlimited vacation, talented people to work with.

Cons

That the company is remote and can't work together in person. Workload can sometimes be heavy, but manageable.

Pros

CSN is truly a mission-driven organization, and the staff and management reflect those values. Management embraces transparency and new ideas. It's a small and growing organization, which means there are lots of opportunities to help shape CSN's future. It's a great work environment! People work hard, genuinely care for each other, and help each other out. The all-remote workforce model is a big plus.

Cons

As a small, growing organization, job roles often change and may be murky at times. CSN could be a good fit if you value flexibility and the chance to help (re-)write your own job description. The projects I worked on were funded through relatively short-term government contracts. So like a lot of non-profits, there can be uncertainty about funding at times, which I could see leading to some long-term career insecurity. That's speculative, though - management has prioritized taking care of all the staff while I've been here.
