Pros
Most of my immediate coworkers were helpful.
Cons
Satellite is a dying industry. There is a negative view of middle management industry-wide. Typical boys club with all of the back-stabbing and drama of a sorority house. Like high school, they have embarrassing "core hours". This means that, as a professional adult, DISH does not trust you to come in on time, nor work like a normal person. You are required to be at the office from 9am-4pm. That's the easy part. But, all hell breaks loose if you scan in at 9:01. Emails are sent to your managers and they must answer to upper management as to why you were one minute late driving to the southermost exit in Denver during a snow storm. So, you must take a PTO day to go to the doctor, run errands, etc. There is very little work/life balance. Pay is lower than industry average and they will do anything in their power to not give you a decent raise, even create a lateral position. Medical benefits are just plain bad. It is a huge cubicle farm and you will find people on their headphones all day. 17,000 employees, yet you will feel as though you are the only one working. People can be helpful, but typically only within your department.
