Pros

Got to enjoy the beauty of Colorado.

Cons

As a former employee I have to say that it was a very unpleasant work environment. Fortunately, for me I was able to find other employment because of my education. During my employment with Dish it was turmoil over and over again. In all fairness I above anything else am a very humble person and in no way ever thought of myself superior to those who had less than me including education. Although my education did not come free nor was I spoiled nor considered myself lucky. Education is not about luck it’s about pursuing your goal no matter what comes your way and that goes for anything else. Though I was not the “self-proclaimed elite” I among others that started the same time I did went through some stuff we were being pushed aside like we didn’t matter, we were disrespected, and in some cases I know I had my few when I was humiliated in front of other employees. They were the ones' with the "napoleon complex" trying to prove that our education meant nothing there at Dish. When I complained and I went through the chain of command nothing got done. HR surprised me when they said I was the one with the problem though I had facts and witnesses. Soon after that myself and those that came to my aid became targets for retaliation. I knew at that moment that it was me against the mob. I don’t look down at others for not having an education; I look down at those who don’t have integrity and character. No, you don’t need a degree to be skilled and know your job but having one shows an employer who values hard work and education that the person with a degree has the persistence to overcome obstacles and has been exposed to ideas that can improve and advance an organization to remain competitive. My mom is a great Dr. in her own way but she does not have a medical degree do I look down at her of course not, I just won't let her operate on me if my life depended on it. Yes!!! I can imagine the "HORROR" of how things have been running at Dish, BECAUSE I EXPERIENCED THE "HORROR" and it was......GASPS!!!!! I have to agree with Gizmo, Dish in El Paso, has a bullying problem and bullies are those that lack the confidence, self-esteem and the intelligence. It’s no wonder many have gone astray even those who as soon as they obtained their education left Dish. Gizmo you’re right on target! Hope you get published.

Pros

Work from home is the only pro I can think of

Cons

They don’t provide any equipment aside from the computer itself. They mislead you during the interview and job description. You are paid according to price of product sold and close rate however it’s all inbound calls and you can not call back. The inbound calls are lousy, people who don’t even have a $1 on a card in order to do the eligibility check, or no card at all.. poor credit which leads to higher out of pocket costs. I think only a handful of times I couldn’t overcome the spousal objection or the just shopping objection. Those I will take responsibility for but if I’m getting calls from people who don’t have a card or don’t have a $ or don’t have the money to put down OR already have an account or is a mis-transfer or were passed along because the technicians have to make referrals even though the customer isn’t actually interested in the product yet the tech makes them still call.. that’s crap and it’s not real sales.
