Pros
-K-12 projects are challenging yet rewarding. Design quality is above average. -Compensation is competitive compared to similar A/E firms. -Rapid growth of the firm has allowed for greater mobility and opportunities for younger designers to branch out.
Cons
-Rapid growth has also led to growing pains. Technology staff is spread thinner, and the infrastructure hasn't kept up. -Benefits are below average (stock options available but no 401k match. Health benefits are limited and adding dependents are very expensive $$$) -Office culture (Overland Park). I can't speak for other regions, so this may be more of a Kansas thing than DLR Group, but there have been multiple instances of inappropriate comments towards women. There have also been similar instances related to race, mainly by older staff.
