Pros

Good comp-especially good comp for on-call rotation. Good onboarding process with a dedicated coordinator and structured training plan. Good parties Nice truck Costco membership perk

Cons

IT systems mediocre-too many different systems, no dedicated entity for continuous improvement, combined with cost fatigue associated with software modifications leave a mediocre, mostly complete solution as a permanent en”environment. They use app based, real time clock in instead of reported time values-this is terrible for field service-it means 20 times a week I need to remember to interrupt myself at different times (field tech schedules vary a lot) , hope there is a connection, hope the server isn’t slow and unresponsive to clock in and out for breaks I rarely even take, I am GPS monitored and could self report with much less interruption and the need to involve someone else every time a punch is missed. It’s unnecessarily awful. Incentive bonus program is low and capped, so no incentive/reward to overachieve. Time off policy antiquated and below average-no use of accrued sick time for first 90 days, no scheduled time off for first six months. They charge $20/pay period to drive company truck. I’ve worked for 3 other companies with provided trucks-nobody ever charged me to drive a company truck before. Medical benefits are expensive and have limited options. 401K match is low and takes 7 years to vest-also antiquated approach. Poor tool replacement policy and no tool allowance for incidental expenses.

Pros

I have worked for DXP for 15 years, and it has been a great place to build a career. The company has consistently invested in my training and professional development, allowing me to gain valuable experience and pursue my entrepreneurial spirit. One of the things I appreciate most is the culture. There is a strong sense of constructive accountability, and employees are trusted to take ownership of their responsibilities. Management has always been receptive to ideas and feedback, and I've had opportunities to contribute to improvements within my local branch. DXP strikes a balance that works well for me: it is highly results-driven without being overly bureaucratic. Although it is a large publicly traded company, local branches often maintain a personal, family-business atmosphere. Employees wear many hats, which creates opportunities to learn different aspects of the business and develop a broad skill set.

Cons

DXP has a relatively flat organizational structure, which can make upward career progression more challenging than at larger organizations with multiple management layers. The company is also not as widely recognized as many Fortune 500 companies. Because of this, attracting and retaining top talent often requires additional effort and involvement at the local level.
