Pros
I've heard some of the Oregon offices make decent money. Not great money though, the number #1 rep in the entire company made $160K, and number #2 rep made 130k in 2023 which is actually pretty bad for a company with around 500 sales reps. Also the office they work at literally has a monopoly in their market. What they did in Oregon was underbid every company in their area until they were forced to go out of business, so homeowners now only have the option to go with Dabella or do the project themselves. Most top performers everywhere else will make less than 100k for 70 hour weeks. The management from my direct team lead, and GM was pretty good. Good opportunities for management if you somehow stick through.
Cons
Long hours with ZERO work-life balance. Mandatory UNPAID trainings at 8am every morning. Your leads would normally start at 10am with your last one being at 6pm sometimes 8pm, meaning you don't get home until 9pm, or sometimes 10 or 11. With how many hours Dabella has you work you would literally make more money at McDonald's if you include overtime. The Vetting process for leads is HORRENDOUS! They say you'll get 3-4 leads a day. In reality you WILL get 3-4 a day, but only 1 out of every 6 people answer their door.......... 3-4 days a week this was my average schedule. Wake up at 7AM. Be at the office by 8am for our meeting Go over the same material we've gone over 50+times 9:00am start driving to my 11am lead 11am arrive at that lead knock on the door to no avail. Call the customer 2-3 times as well as leave a text message + voicemails. No answer. Sit in in my car waiting for my next lead at 2pm in the same town 2pm comes around and ANOTHER NO SHOW WOOHOO! Go to a coffee shop because I still have another lead in this town at 6:30pm 6:30 rolls around and yep you guessed it NO ANSWER! Time to make my 2+ hour drive home because now it will be rush hour once I hit the valleys, and it's a 1 and a half hour drive with zero traffic. Get home at 9:30pm wondering what I'm doing with my life, because I just worked a 13 and a half hour day for not even a chance to sell something. Oh did I mention that driving is all on your own dollar? So you actually just LOST MONEY working a 13 and a half hour day! On the days that didn't happen it would be the same except ONE out of those 3 would answer. And usually the one homeowner that answered had the call center/setters lie to them so I have to reset expectations. The financing approval rate is maybe 1 out of 3, so even when you do make sales you're rarely gonna see the money because of things outside of your control. To top it all off this place has The. Highest. Pressure. Sales. Ever. Used car salesman and vendors who stand at the entrance of grocery stores can't even hold a candle to these guys. I mean my god, they're number #1 phrase is Cops or Contracts, and they mean it too. I've seen a team member get praised for bullying an older lady so hard that she called the cops, and had to call her husband home from work early just to get them out of her house because they refused to leave until she signed. When I was still in training and shadowing the seasoned rep (there's only one who's been at this office for more than 2 months) there were multiple times that a homeowner said " get out of my house. I'm not buying anything today. We're done here. You've already ruined any chance at a sale. I hate salesman like you. Why are you pressuring me so hard. I will never buy anything from Dabella, and will make sure none of my friends do because you're pressuring me so hard. I hate salesman like you. I've been in sales for years and people like you give us a bad name. Etc" and then my coworker kept pressuring them............. When I asked them "why do you do that? Have you ever even made a sale that way?" There responses where "Eh sometimes, but at that point it's not about a sale it's about the respect. If you invite me over to your house, and don't buy anything you just wasted my time. If you're going to ruin my day by not buying then I'm going to ruin your night by pi**ing you off" It is mandatory that you have to be this pushy as well, and if you aren't you will get called every name in the book, yelled at, belittled, and written up.
