- Low pressure environment. Hours aren't crazy long.
- Some great people
- Central location
- Slightly above market rates for most jobs
Cons
- Very top-heavy. Lots of chiefs and few indians. Many chiefs come from years in the corporate world.
- Mostly funded by retail banks and the like and that brings with it a certain mentality that is often at odds with the nature of a startup. Banks aren't known for their innovation it shows in a lot of what goes on.
- There is no real consensus on what the product is and as a consequence there is a lot of activity shooting in often conflicting or unknown directions.
- No real culture. Seem to be good at selling one of the many visions to candidates but very quickly most realise it is not what it said on the label.
- Lots and lots of meetings that have no discernible purpose and pretty much go nowhere. If you like meetings, this is the place for you.
