Pros
I’m incredibly grateful for several years at DealMaker. Being part of this journey pushed me to grow in ways I didn’t fully appreciate at the time, but now look back on as foundational. I learned a lot, not just about the business, but about myself - how to take ownership, how to operate with trust, and how to grow through responsibility. Throughout my time here, I was consistently put in positions of trust that challenged me and pushed my boundaries. There were moments where I had to figure things out without a perfect roadmap, and those experiences forced real growth. The responsibility I was given and the problems I got to work on made my experience here truly irreplaceable. Rebecca is a leader you can genuinely get behind. She leads with conviction and her passion is unmatched. Having leadership that believes in you and gives you room to grow makes a huge difference, and I felt that here. I’m proud of what we built, grateful for the relationships I formed, and appreciative of a work environment that encouraged learning, ownership, and ambition. DealMaker played an extremely meaningful role in my career/life, and I’ll always value the time I spent here.
Cons
One area for continued focus is balancing DealMaker’s strong execution and transactional efficiency with a longer-term mindset in certain verticals. Being transactional is often a strength and absolutely necessary at scale, but some relationships and categories benefit from more time, patience, and long-term investment. Leaning into that balance could unlock even more value over time.
