Pros
Coworkers were great, office was nice, historic wineries
Cons
Demeine Estates was a promising idea - a wine company run by sommeliers, with historic and notable wine brands in its portfolio. However, the leadership (CEO McCoy and President Bouvier) is incredibly toxic and they have no self-awareness as to how their bad behavior impacts individuals and the company as a whole. All the other reviews are true - they expect you to work 60+ hours/week, gaslight you at every turn, and in general just can't be trusted. They use "it's a startup" as an excuse to treat people poorly: they will rescind WRITTEN OFFERS for titles and bonuses with no warning or explanation; you won't be given the materials or time needed to be successful at your job; and, the kicker, the president broadly accused the entire marketing team of being discriminatory against her, without any proof or recorded incidents, and without HR involved. I could go on and on about the atrocities, but you get the idea. Cue the 2nd mass exodus of DE employees. The real tragedy of Demeine is that they hire INCREDIBLE people on the "ground floor" - everyone who isn't in leadership is truly talented, kind, and great at what they do. The estate managers, winemakers, and everyone I worked with in marketing are some of the best, hardest-working people I've met in my career. What a shame that the rot from above has made it an unbearable place to work.
