Pros

Good hours for anyone who likes graveyards Friendly coworkers and supervisors Understanding clientele

Cons

No uniform allowance Tell you to bring your own firearm & accessories then complain about the color Unpaid training Lie about raises to get you to accept a job offer No body armor provided must purchase your own on $15/hr or less Asks what region you’d like to work and then completely disregards the answer and schedules you 40 miles from home Scheduling Department hangs up on you when you call Patrol vehicles are unsafe death traps Upper management may be using company funds for personal gain Changes time cards to reflect the schedule times instead of paying you for hours worked. Schedules armed guards on unarmed sites and tells them to leave their firearms in their cars Schedules unarmed officers on sites that request armed guards, knowing that the site has had shot fired and gang wars in the past.

Pros

Some shifts can be flexible depending on scheduling. Opportunity to gain basic experience in security work.

Cons

Management is unprofessional and often pushes against labor laws. Retaliation is a concern if you assert your rights. Breaks may not be honored correctly despite documentation. Payroll is inconsistent and inconvenient—checks require a 2-week wait and often aren’t ready on time. No direct deposit, causing unnecessary hassle. Lack of transparency and overall sketchy practices.
