Pros
There are NO pros to working here
Cons
You’ll make decent money here not because they are generous, but rather because they came into a windfall of taxpayer funding from the county which was required to be used to pay salaries (but also used to threaten staff into subserviency). Reality is they are insolvent-millions in debt. You can ask the former CFO but she was arrested for suspected fraud of two other MH organizations under her leadership (google nonprofits-financial-chief-got-kept-job-amid-fraud-investigation). They recently hired a COO after she applied as an entry level unlicensed counselor. The pinnacle of her experience is that she rose to the level of “Life Coach”. Those of us with decades of ACTUAL clinical experience can barely hold in our laughter after this brilliant decision by the self-proclaimed “Visionary” CEO. The CEO surrounds herself in puppets who constantly tell her how amazing she is. Constructive criticism is not not welcomed there and you will quickly be called into HR only to be told you “are not on the right bus” or some other juvenile cliche... if you have a grievance you can discuss it to HR who will rabidly sell you out to the CEO, and soon you will become targeted for dismissal. Truth is nearly all middle management left not because the work was too hard; most worked 60+ hours per week with no complaints. They are hemorrhaging staff because upper management will publicly humiliate you on a daily basis. Upper management will not only destroy your career, but they seek to destroy your reputation when you've finally had enough.
