Pros
Overall Experience Doc B’s Kitchen is a good restaurant to work for. They treat employees well and are good about making sure that there’s no harassment or unfair treatment (either from managers or customers). So far, I like it and I can’t see myself suddenly hating it anytime in the future. Management Management is great. They thoroughly understand how to run a restaurant. They’re great about leaving the kitchen up to the chefs and not giving their two cents about things they don’t understand. They must have all been trained in conflict resolution because there’s never been an issue or problem between anyone at the restaurant that they couldn’t solve. Coworkers I like most of them. I don’t think it’s possible to get along with everyone all the time. We all have our moments, but for the most part we’re polite to one another and don’t take our bad days out on each other. It’s a good group of people and I can’t really complain. Customers We get some real characters in here, but never any bad tippers. To me that’s a more than fair trade off and I’d rather serve people I can laugh about later than take home less money at the end of the night. Schedule The schedule is pretty flexible as long as you give management enough advance notice about changes to your availability. I know a few college kids work here and their schedules change every few months. It’s never been an issue as long as management gets enough of a heads up. Pay If you work in the restaurant business you know that your tips make up the majority of your salary. My advice: work somewhere like Doc B’s where the customers tip well and you make more than enough to live off of.
Cons
It’s not for everyone. People think it’s easy working in a restaurant but that’s not the case. If you haven’t done it before you might be in for a rude awakening. I wouldn’t recommend working here to anyone who’s new to it.
