Pros

Remote working Nice team members but shame about the CEO, who lives to torment the team

Cons

Insecure CEO (absolutely awful to deal with) Micro managing through repetitive timesheets detailing line by line what was done every single minute and then daily update emails on top of it The CEO belittles staff, bullies them and is highly narcissistic Not many benefits Communication is poor A lot of mistrust. The company is remote but better off being in an office as they don’t trust their staff to actually work - hence the constant admin in accounting for every minute of the day

We're sorry to hear you haven’t had a positive experience - we actively seek employee feedback regularly to ensure people don’t feel like this and are enjoying their roles. If people are good at their jobs then there is a lot of freedom - we are all busy, and no-one here has time to micromanage. That's not part of our approach or team culture. Equally, we would never tolerate a bullying approach - we have encountered situations where people do not like being asked about their work, and dislike being questioned, but asking is not bullying. In order to run smoothly and deliver effective, high-quality solutions, good communication is key, and this involves discussing work openly, including defects. It's important to understand that due to the nature of our business, timesheets are critical. We need accurate work reports for billing purposes, and we do this using online tools because it's practical. These certainly do not capture "every minute", but rather, the time spent against different projects and tasks. Not every company uses timesheets, but ones like us that provide a service to clients almost invariably do. People who show that they are knowledgeable and competent, can do their jobs well, and fit in with our reporting approach (which takes around five minutes per day) enjoy a lot of freedom, flexible hours, and a friendly working environment. We operate on a trust basis, and if work is poor or someone is uncommunicative then our remote-working environment may not be the best for them, as they may well need team members around them in an office. There are always going to be occasions where decisions are made that are disagreed with - we would, however, encourage communication and engagement in terms of giving feedback, and we employ people in HR to listen to this and indeed actively seek it. Ultimately, we hope that you have found a more suitable workplace, and that you are happy in your new role.

Pros

There are no pros to this company, would give it zero stars if I could

Cons

An ingrained culture of bullying and belittling. The CEO is an unpleasant character, and no one will stand up to him. There is always someone within the company who is the current 'target', this person will be fired and their reputation dragged through the mud, At which point a new person will become a target and the process starts again. There are odd processes in place that make no sense to anyone, a lot of in house systems that are not fit for purpose, but everyone is made to use them No doubt there will be a reply questioning my integrity, which is absolutely impeccable.
