Pros

No pros. Learned more in 24 hours at new employer than I did in three weeks working for Doug Andrus.

Cons

-Wanted me to “train” with mentor for 7 weeks. They do this so the mentors can get more miles and money. -Company wanted me to falsify HOS logs so mentor could drive longer. -Sat in the passenger seat for 16 hours a day while mentor drove on my hours. -Told by mentor to just go with falsifying records and I’d have my own truck making $70,000 a year in 5 more weeks. -Company only pays $0.30 per mile to new drivers. That is a lot of miles a year to get to $70,000. -When asking if I could get a mentor that would actually train me I was told “you just can’t handle being a trucker”.

Pros

There is an open line of communication between drivers and their dm's. I have worked here for 2 years as of January 3 and am so pleased that I still look forward to going out on the road every time. Doug Andrus offers extremely well priced health, vision and dental insurance, 401K, vacation packages, flexible on their home time and puts the safety of their drivers over the freight when conditions are hazardous, (ie. weather, traffic, construction, detours, etc.) They will work with you to the best of their ability.

Cons

No pet policy. That is, literally, the worst part of working here.
