Pros

The work is interesting and I developed expertise on my region. There are also some nice colleagues at the junior and middle levels.

Cons

The CEO and CIO. Bullying and condescending attitudes. Micro management. Not the kind of people you want to come across in your career. Every encounter makes you scared and unhappy. When you talk to peers in other companies in the sector, you realise that Dragonfly is a crazy place. If you then go to another company, you see that narcissistic and condescending attitudes are not normal. They tried to rebrand to distance themselves from the terrible Glassdoor reviews for The Risk Advisory Group. There's a new name and logo, but it's the same attitudes at the top.

Pros

Thorough, hands on training sessions that ensure the employee is prepared. Management invests greatly in their reps/associates, and want to see them succeed. Company culture is also a plus. They care for each individual a lot, are extremely empathetic to personal situations, and understand that work is not the end all be all of life. Also - you will find a wide variety of people working for DragonFly. Many of my colleagues came from very different socioeconomic, racial, and geographical backgrounds than myself. To make those connections was invaluable.

Cons

No cons - but it would be helpful to have a passion for geopolitics or security.

Pros

You will learn a lot about the different types of security risks that impact businesses. You will probably also build out your knowledge of different global regions. Your writing will probably improve dramatically. The analyst team is extremely talented and (mostly) friendly. These are above-average young professionals functioning admirably in a below-average workplace.

Cons

This is a content factory. They produce a lot of material with a relatively small team of analysts. Unfortunately the demands placed upon analysts are unrealistic. Expect to be overworked. Expect to be criticised for not meeting targets that are unattainable without sacrificing quality. Managers are overworked and often fail to review your work in a timely manner. Of course they deflect blame by going after the analyst. Bullying also occurs here. Don't let the polished exterior fool you. People will say extremely rude things and later behave as if nothing happened. Expect managers to ignore the bad actors or come up with mediocre solutions to keep the content factory running.
