The colleagues on the ground are hardworking and supportive, and many employees genuinely want to improve the company. The technical teams and shopfloor staff are doing their best despite extremely limited resources. There is potential in the business if proper leadership and process discipline were in place.
Cons
The current environment is very challenging and poorly managed. Leadership appears disconnected from actual operational realities, with little effort to refine or stabilise processes. Manufacturing quality issues are frequent, leading to significant waste and unnecessary cost, yet management continues to push for more output without addressing root causes. The workforce has become extremely thin, but expectations and workload keep increasing. Requests are often unrealistic, with no clear prioritisation or support structure. The new GM’s leadership style feels overly aggressive and authoritarian, treating the Singapore operation like a military-style environment rather than a professional workplace. Morale across departments is low. IT leadership is also a concern, as management lacks proper technical understanding and IT is treated more as a fireman rather than a strategic enabler. Overall, there is a lack of direction, accountability, and long-term planning.
