Pros

- A lot of opportunities to travel - you can learn a lot, fast - colleagues are fantastic - they have some great clients who you can get to know

Cons

- micromanagement - location is terrible - operations manager is out for herself. - management has been promoted based on loyalty, not ability - chaotic decision making

Pros

Some brilliant opportunities, not a normal job at all. Extremely diverse day to day and seeing events and places you would never normally see.

Cons

Be prepared for the job to take over your life a little bit in terms of the amount of time you can be away. It can impact relationships and friendships.

Pros

The opportunity to travel is fantastic. We get to go to various destinations across the world and have great experiences whilst working onsite. Suitable for someone who wishes to live outside of London and in a smaller town by the beach. Good for someone starting their career in the industry as the company likes to promote within.

Cons

The hours are 9-5 although it is very rare you actually work those. The workload can be very high for the majority of the time so working into the evenings/weekends is sometimes necessary to stay on top of your workload. Not suitable for someone who wants to work in a busy town/city as Rye is very sleepy. Can be hard for someone relocating to the area without knowing anyone. There is not much opportunity for career progression after Event Manager position.

Well if I may... I have started here as an event manager, was promoted to become an operations manager, client services director and became a MD recently. Our current operations manager joined company in a role of an event assistant ... and I could name other examples of developing our own in-house talent and promoting within.
