rigid, "military" organization where only the power struggles between bosses count, below you just have to follow orders and stay in your place, or you are threatened with not renewing the contract. In general, there is no clue about management principles/efficiency at all, and in particular in the administrative part you can progress only with connections and seniority, sometimes without any competence. Beyond words, there is unfortunately a pernicious tendency to mobbing and bullying. The current DG is trying to change things, but the starting situation is too negative, and she hasn't shown the courage to be totally faithful to her promises. She seems to have focused totally on the issues of inclusion and gender, surely important things but she would need just as much effort on how management treats subordinates and the toxic working environment.
