Pros

- The team is incredibly smart, hard working, and collaborative. - The product works and the vision of the company is inspiring. - You will get to work on really interesting problems and have more ownership than you probably should.

Cons

The polarized reviews here makes sense. The culture is intense and not for everyone. It's like a sports team that wants to be the best. Expectations and accountability are high, especially from Matteo (CEO). The two traits I see that separate people who love this place versus who don't: 1. People who thrive don't take criticism personally and use it to improve. Those who struggle perceive it as a personal attack ("I got yelled at"). 2. Ability to deliver - if you are great at what you do, this place is fun because you get lots of responsibility and autonomy. But if you struggle to deliver, I can see it feeling overwhelming and oppressive.

Pros

Eight Sleep is one of the few places where you can actually feel the impact of your work in real time. The company moves fast — ideas go from concept to production in days or weeks, not quarters. If you’re someone who likes building, shipping, and iterating quickly, this environment is incredibly energizing. There’s a strong culture of ownership. You’re not boxed into a narrow role — especially in product or BizOps, you end up touching everything: product, operations, CX, growth, and even hardware decisions. This makes it an amazing place to learn quickly and develop a very holistic understanding of how a company operates and how decisions are made. Leadership sets a high bar. Expectations are intense, but it pushes you to think sharper, move faster, and operate at a higher level than you might elsewhere. When things are working, the team can execute at a very high level. Also — the product is genuinely compelling. Sleep is a problem people really care about, and when the product works well, users love it. That makes the work feel meaningful.

Cons

The bar is high, but support structures (process, documentation, tooling) are still catching up in some areas. You often have to build the system while running it. The cool thing is you are the one building it so you really learn how to build from the ground up.

Pros

Eight Sleep is one of the few companies where the mission actually shows up in the day-to-day work. The team is incredibly smart, ambitious, and genuinely cares about building something meaningful in health and longevity. You’re surrounded by people who move fast, challenge ideas, and push for a very high bar across product, engineering, and brand. The company is still in that rare stage where you can see your work directly shape the product and the brand. Things ship quickly, and good ideas can actually become reality rather than getting stuck in layers of process. Leadership is very product-driven and focused on long-term impact, which makes the work feel exciting and meaningful. It’s also a great place for people who want to grow quickly. Because the company moves fast, you end up learning a lot across disciplines and taking on responsibility earlier than you might at a larger company.

Cons

The pace is intense and expectations are high, which isn’t for everyone. Priorities can shift quickly as the company grows and new opportunities emerge, so you have to be comfortable operating in a fast-changing environment. It rewards people who are proactive and adaptable, but if you’re looking for a slower, more structured environment it may feel demanding.
