      Pros

      Overall, I had a mostly positive experience working as a Software Engineer at Elliptic. I was fortunate enough to work under a Tech Lead who was very supportive and was really invested in my professional growth. He provided me with numerous opportunities that accelerated my career progression, eventually leading to my promotion to Senior Engineer. His guidance and leadership really helped in my development, and I always felt valued and challenged in the team. Another positive experience was the people. It was great to be surrounded by very friendly, approachable and intelligent colleagues. Everyone was always happy to help and often went out of their way to do so. The work was also challenging and exciting from an engineering perspective, where engineers were given freedom to make their own architecture decisions all the way from ideation and inception of a feature to production and maintenance. Most apps used the latest available technology which was great for upskilling. Finally, the remuneration was on the higher side for a full stack engineering role compared to other industries.

      Cons

      During my tenure at Elliptic, there were multiple organisational restructures which unfortunately resulted in some people losing their jobs. This happened at least 4 or 5 times during my time there. This often left the employees feeling quite uncertain and it took a while to get back into the swing of things and to continue delivering our work. Whilst these changes created uncertainty and required adjustments, they didn't completely overshadow the overall positive experience I had. One last con (or pro for some) is that most people work fully remote, so there isn't too much of an in-person office atmosphere.
