Pros
-Compensation ok -Benefits, if not, are better than local companies, even at par big with multinational companies -The prestige of working for the largest geothermal energy company in the Philippines and the 3rd largest globally, with 1,100++ MW in its portfolio -Consistently at the top 50 corporations in the Philippines. On the other note, its stock price is still undervalued. -Company is in renewable energy meaning it is always green - being environment-friendly and income always grows -Company is expanding locally and internationally, with 200++ MW local infuse and concessions in Indonesia (300 MW), Chile (150++ MW) and Peru -Other renewable energies it harness are wind (86 MW with capacity up to 120 MW, which will become the largest wind company in the Philippines as of this writing) and hydro (100++ MW) -Adheres whole-heartedly to integrity and bias for action as part of company's core values -Opportunity to travel to plants across the Philippines (but not for all)
Cons
-Once an equal opportunity employer, it is now preferring to employ those coming from Big 4 universities in the Philippines and further promotion. This mostly happen in HQ. I cannot speak for those hired at sites. -Compensation is not calibrated. Some of the employees who have been hired longer have the same salary with newly-hired employees, even of the same rank. Newly-hired coming from big 4 universities there are also ++ in base pay. -Few groups are mature enough to accept actions whether other or their own department had problem. But most of the time, most groups have old ways ingrained in them - putting 'shits' whenever problem arises, keeping their hands off, expecting other group will pick it up for them - despite the efforts of the top management to change it at least. -Bureaucracy still persists. -Fairness, which is part of company core values, is not practiced. -There were times before that employees are informed that a section/department will be dissolved on a very short notice (as in less than a working week) and transferred without their consent. Worst, the transfer papers are delayed by months even a year by the catching group. -In spite of great efforts in searching viability, technological improvement is neither embraced nor accepted by many, even those who have technical knowledge. Further, technological development is not part of the company's drive for sustainable growth.
