Pros

Exposure to regional and international work. Decent product with an established customer base. Some colleagues at the working level are generally capable and supportive. Opportunity to take ownership early in your role. Flexible work arrangements. Taken together, this can be a good place if you value autonomy, enjoy working across markets, and are comfortable operating with a high degree of independence.

Cons

I would not recommend this company if you are looking for stability, structure, or clear career progression. There have been multiple layoffs, alongside continued attrition of experienced staff. Workforce planning appears inconsistent, with roles being made redundant and later re-scoped or rehired at a different level. Leadership messaging often emphasises private equity backing, but there is limited clarity on long-term strategy. Decision-making can feel opaque, contributing to perceptions of favouritism and internal politics. These factors collectively create uncertainty and affect morale across teams. Overall, the environment feels unstable and difficult to navigate with confidence.

Pros

I’ve had a great experience working at Energy Exemplar. The company is filled with talented, passionate people who genuinely care about the work they do and the impact they make on the energy industry. The mission is meaningful, and it’s rewarding to be part of an organization that helps customers make critical decisions related to the future of energy. From a Talent Acquisition perspective, I’ve appreciated the opportunity to partner with leaders across the globe, influence hiring strategies, and contribute to the company’s growth. The culture promotes collaboration, trust, and flexibility, with employees empowered to take ownership of their work. Remote work flexibility and work-life balance have also been strong positives. Leadership is approachable, and there is a consistent focus on innovation, customer success, and continuous improvement.

Cons

As with many high-growth organizations, priorities can shift quickly, which requires adaptability and strong communication. However, this also creates opportunities to learn, grow, and make an impact.

Pros

The best PE investment team(s) in Blackstone and Vista supporting the business.

Cons

Legacy founder led leaders still in charge running it as a founder led company, as opposed to an Enterprise software business. The Chief People officer based in AU calls all the shots, and the CEO, who has very poor employee respect falls in line. The morale is toxic, as a result of these two legacy leaders that remain. Once Blackstone/Vista make the leadership change the business has a chance to recover, until then, it’s a sinking ship.
