11yAs a business that has been operating in Indonesia for nearly 20 years, EF has closely cooperated with local authorities to ensure consistent compliance with local policies. EF English Centers operates with a valid license and is permitted to recruit foreign staff. Over the past half year the Indonesian government has been reviewing and adjusting their policies and procedures for employing foreign teaching staff.
During this regulatory transition period EF’s Corporate Affairs has been meeting with officials in the Ministry of Education weekly to understand and implement the changes. When new information is available it is communicated to our staff either through emails, phone calls or face to face. Government regulatory changes are a slow process which can cause frustration for people who are or will be affected by the changes.
No foreign staff member of EF English Centers is in Indonesia without a visa or on a tourist visa.
At EF, it is our standard operating practice to be in full compliance with all of the national, regional and local laws to ensure that our centers operate legally.
