Pros
Really warm working environment; welcoming to newbies; prepares you fully for the job at hand; educates you on the issues you are advocating for; great practice in canvassing/speaking with strangers who do not want to be spoken to; really encouraging environment
Cons
Long commutes to destination of canvassing area (which would be the case for any job similar to this), but it can make you feel like you are killing the environment more than you are saving it when it comes to traffic; sort of awkward hours (12-10pm), so you can’t really have a supplemental morning or night shift anywhere else; if you are looking for a very professional environment, this is not the place (but if you want a more laid back and fun job, this is a great fit)
