Great corporate culture and learning opportunities, not so great student employment policy - Student Developer Ericsson Employee Review

Pros

Corporate culture is excellent and the teams are very helpful and loyal to each other. Any student or junior developer has the opportunity to learn a lot from some of the best colleagues in the industry here. Work-life balance is also great and days off can be taken with a flexible timing.

Cons

Flexible working hours are the only positive aspect of being employed as a Student Developer. Students don't get trainings, even if their whole team does. There is a very significant gap between students and junior colleagues in terms of wage, benefits (including very small-value ones) and career improvement opportunities. Also, there seems to be a very difficult situation now with very few junior/medior job openings, so it is very hard to get a permanent employee status, even for a long-term student employee. At least in Hungary.

Pros

The company culture is great. Super flexible, remote work culture and tons of different areas or career paths to pivot into. International company with offices in 180 different countries. Loads of diversity.

Cons

Many teams can be international, so timezones will conflict a lot and make it much harder to work with people who are overseas as they are logging off as you are getting on. This also causes communication issues as sometimes there can be language barriers.
