Pros
Fairly low stress if you turn off your brain, turn off creativity, and shut your mouth - just fly under the radar.
Cons
- No career development at all. You better like your pay and position when you join, because it's unlikely either will ever change. - Low pay, shamefully low annual pay increases (3-4% is considered high) - Insulting micromanaged environment - No praise for excelling or trying something new, just cutting you down when something doesn't meet ever changing expectations (of which you're not aware) - No leadership or communication from management - Can't trust management - Operates by a hierarchical caste system - no respect for employees - "when I want your opinion I'll ask the director what it is and then give it to you."
