Pros
+ Decent work-life balance. + Freedom to learn on the job. + Freedom to decline some work that doesn't seem interesting. + Annual merit increases. + Supportive of remote work. + Is a big company, but doesn't feel super corporate at times, which is nice. + Stable company, I never worry about my job being in jeopardy. + Completely private and not in debt.
Cons
- Compensation is poor compared to the industry average. - Recently high turnover. - Insincerity among coworkers. Hard to connect sometimes - You will end up managing yourself more than the management team manages you. If you struggle to say no, this is a terrible place to work. - Very easy to get swept up in a sea of work that quickly overwhelms you. - Project teams aren't consistent, and you talk with someone one day, and don't work with them again for 2-3 years. - Lack of clear direction. Easy to hit a plateau point and not know where to go from there, even as a Senior Software Engineer. - Not always the most fulfilling work. - Lack of connection with upper management. Seems like the disconnect is growing bigger every day.
