Pros

I think what sets this company apart from others is they really do care about their Direct support professionals and Clients wellbeing . Their staff at Essential Services support each other and is a heartfelt community . I could call in and get support with any question I had and really get encouraged and supported. I wanted to do my best to give the best care to clients, I felt that the standard of quality care was set from the top and all set an example of that. I am proud to work for a company that really cares. Great benefits are offered and I loved the flexible scheduling . I could homeschool my kiddo while still having time to work as a DSP.

Cons

It could begin to feel lonely if you isolate yourself from other DSPs and clients but you can allivaiate that by making sure to attend the events the company puts on where clients, DSPs, office staff, and family attends. This is pretty independent work as a DSP so making sure to check in with the office or reach out for help when needed helps.

Pros

No pros at all, at least for me

Cons

If you’re thinking about working here, proceed with caution. A management change was never communicated to me, and when I reached out, I didn't hear back for two weeks. I waited over three months with no updates on what clients I could work with—and even longer to get any explanation for why I still had none. Now, months later, they issued an incorrect W-2 (Cannot file because of this) and are still unwilling to fix it. Communication is consistently poor, and the lack of problem-solving leaves you feeling uneasy and unsupported.
