Pros

I don't have to have a camera monitoring me sometimes.

Cons

You’re contracted by a gaming company that raked in $5.76 billion in 2022, yet they offer you a mere $17 an hour with no overtime—ever. Apex’s healthcare package is a joke, costing $500 a week. On a $35k annual salary, you qualify for federal marketplace plans, which is a small consolation. PTO accrues at a pitiful rate of one hour per week. Many of my colleagues, who have children, are forced onto welfare due to these abysmal wages. Management is a farce. They blindly follow whatever the contract dictates, never questioning the feasibility or wisdom of their decisions. Promotions are reserved for yes-men who never challenge authority. The incompetence is staggering, with frequent mispronunciations, misspellings, and a glaring lack of formal education. No one knows how to use a CRM or adherence system, leaving us to clock in and out of four different systems. Moderators are writing scripts just to keep us afloat, and now management, in a laughable move, is supposed to QA our work. Instead, they sneak around, making moderators QA each other’s work. Our contractors, stakeholders, and leaders are so disconnected from reality that they dismiss any suggestions and act surprised when no one attends their open office hours. THERE NEEDS TO BE MORE REGUALTIONS PLACED ON CONTRACTORS LIKE APEX!

Pros

- Ability to work remotely still, however I am not sure how long that will last for me. They are pushing people back into the office. Autonomy & Independence - Strong ability to self-direct and own responsibilities - Involvement in high-impact work - Broad responsibilities that build transferable skills

Cons

- I feel like my role was created without clear definition or long-term planning. I - Needed help with my workload and, despite repeated requests over the past year, I still haven't received any help - Increasing responsibilities without proportional salary growth - Bonus structure adjusted to be more difficult to achieve - Multiple internal teams laid off. Work transitioned to outsourced teams with lower perceived quality - Reduced sense of ownership and care from external/outsourced teams - Movement away from autonomy toward increased oversight - Reduced trust compared to earlier experience - Meeting Overload (“Meeting Fatigue”) - Uncertainty About Future State - Concerns around remote work longevity - Lack of clarity on role growth, support, and company direction
