Pros

There are some great people who work there (who all end up leaving). The building is in a great spot downtown.

Cons

This company has a very fast moving revolving door; there is no longevity in its workforce. The overall culture is very depressing, as they discourage open dialogue about issues and are generally very non-confrontational. The hiring strategy is to get people right out of college who are broke and clueless and then give them very little pay (starting under $30,000) and treat them terribly. After putting up with this for months, most barely make it a year before quitting. Having worked there longer, I can say that there were some corrupt things going on that made me uncomfortable (i.e. lying to clients). Human Resources is a mockery. They are not there to support you or listen to you, only to continuously convey the message that management sends down to them. They seem to love the firing process and have become quite adept at it over the years. Benefits are terrible, though management consistently believes them to be fantastic. Yes, they pay your initial health care premium, but if you dare to have a family or a medical procedure, you will be paying for them for years to come. Overall it was a bad experience and I would not recommend seeking employment there.

Pros

EDI employs staff to work directly with medical/research non-profits, giving employees the incredible opportunity to help its clients realize their vision. Culture is very supportive - EDI supports professional development and membership in related organizations for its employees to help them continually grow and say on top of trends. They provide pathways for staff to be promoted and grow within the company. They offer a variety of opportunities from meetings logistics to committee management to meeting planning to medical writing and more. I've worked there for over 15 years and have had an incredible experience with the company as well as with the volunteers we serve.

Cons

No cons currently. Over the last 15+ years that I've been here, EDI has worked hard to support employees and respond to suggestions for improvement. For example, most positions are able to work remotely up to 3 days a week. EDI is also continuously updating technologies and systems to allow staff to efficiently do their work.
