This is a temp agency. When I came in for a "meeting" the owners were not there and the staff were dismissive, looked angry and began eating lunch while I was there, during the meeting. Although they placed me quickly, they misinformed me of the duration of the assignment, for which I planned accordingly, and then actually challenged MY work ethic because I was unable to make arrangements to extend my availability on a whim because they got the days wrong in the first place.
The next assignment I was asked to take sounded great and I was told to be ready for Monday's interview with the job site and would most likely start Tuesday. Again, I made arrangements. Monday came and went and then when I had to reach out to them to follow up because I had heard nothing, they casually mentioned that they had given many resumes to the company and that I'd find out soon if they wanted me. That was a week ago.
My advice to management:
Try to be more organized. I realize people need to be ready to work in a temp situation, but providing the proper information in a professional manner and honoring other peoples time is not only business savvy but courteous. I would also suggest taking responsibility for your office's inefficiencies and mistakes rather than blaming the employee.
