- poor leadership (would call them managers, not leaders) - excessive micromanagement - Lost their direction - Not client focused. Not employee focused either. They are Investor focused. Expressable is a prime example of a company founded on an excellent idea that has become a corporatized monster, with little to no regard for the people they are supposed to serve and very little understanding of how to care for the people they employ. Where ethics conflict with profit, they will deploy every trick in their arsenal to justify the choice to focus on profit and forego ethics. They seem to delight in spinning a tale full of fantasy and intrigue in hopes that their entire work force will just believe the tale. Should you question their decisions, you will meet one of two fates: you will be called to a meeting with a supervisor so they can convince you to follow their ways ( as they believe if you don't agree it must be because you are too idiotic to understand) OR you will fall victim to the "mean girl" management techniques that they utilize because they lack any type of leadership skills. In the event that you STILL do not agree with them, then they will enter into "we will win at all costs" mentality, and it is then that they loose common decency and humanity in their treatment of you. I do believe that there are small portions of their leadership who are blinded to how the treating SLPs are actually treated. The person best suited for employment at Expressable is one who wants to show up to a job and be told what to think, what to believe and how to do every portion of their job - from clinical reasoning to even the most mundane tasks. If you enjoy having every single moment of your work day both filled with clients (some of whom you may have never met) and reviewed, tracked and turned into a number to impress their investors, then you will thrive under their micromanagement. And they will be sure to remind you how you can do better (but not what you already do well) and that you are getting "paid well" to fall in line and do exactly as they say. Again, a fallacy that they spin in their favor and expect employees to believe. If, however, you enjoy the freedom to customize treatment for your clients, to find creative solutions for your clients, To communicate with clients and caregivers in "your"way, or to manage your own schedule and take breaks at times that are most effective for YOU, then please do not consider employment at Expressable. They care only about making a profit and elevating their report numbers for their investors. You and your clients are a means to an end that is not at all about speech and language therapy.

We have a dedicated team whose sole focus is ensuring our clinicians feel supported, valued, and cared for. Our leadership team participates in ongoing trainings to strengthen their skills in coaching, communication, and collaboration. If any interaction ever came across as “inhumane” or “mean-spirited,” we sincerely apologize—this is never our intention and is not aligned with our values. We also believe strongly in celebrating our employees’ excellent work and successes. Positive reinforcement, recognition, and encouragement are woven into our culture. While we are of course a business and must maintain funding to provide care, our decisions are always human-first. Numbers never take precedence over the wellbeing of our employees or the quality of client care. In terms of clinical work, every clinician is provided with at least four hours—or up to three weeks in advance notice—when a session or evaluation is scheduled, to review new clients and prepare appropriately. Full-time clinicians with 40 hours of availability typically complete around 28–30 direct client hours per week. Caseloads may feel full at times, but this is done intentionally to account for client waitlists, cancellations, and reschedules, while also ensuring that employees are consistently able to meet their compensation goals. We also work hard to ensure compensation is competitive, and in fact, our pay rates are higher than state averages in most areas. Your feedback matters to us because it helps us continue to grow and improve. Pros

Supportive team culture with clear expectations and strong leadership. Excellent opportunities for professional growth as an SLP, including monthly CEUs and grand rounds. Despite being a remote role, there is a highly collaborative environment with a true sense of team connection. Flexible scheduling and accessible, responsive management make it easy to feel supported and successful in your role here!

Cons

Salary increases are capped, which may limit compensation growth even when performance expectations are met or exceeded.

Pros

- Free CEUs, computer/iPads to be help make therapy successful - Group of SLPs that have experience in every niche you can think of, very supportive and kind - Use innovative products to make workload easier for documentation, etc.

Cons

- Rely on metrics/KPIs too much, it takes away from SLPs using clinical judgement. Makes us feel like more of a 'product' than an actual person. - Pay is low, bonuses are set up so you get the least amount possible.
