      Pros

      Once you start working there, you can stay there pretty much as long as you want. There are a lot of employees who have been there 15-40 years.

      Cons

      There's very, very little room for career growth, promotions or lateral movement because people stay there for decades.

      Collegial; calm work environment; staff want to do good work to support the federal judiciary; has good work-life balance (employees not expected to make their work/job their life); work schedule flexibility.

      Cons

      Limited mobility, lateral or upward, due to the fact that staff remain in their positions for a long time (several years or more or until retirement).
