Pros

The benefits are great and the only reason why I held on as long as I did. If it was not for benefits I would have been gone after a year. You will meet kind, inteligent people - I love my team and what they bring to the table. The facilities are nice.

Cons

MANAGEMENT; Management is dysfunctional, especially upper management. It starts with the CEO and trickles down the management hierarchy - big egos, entitlement and lack of interest in employee wellbeing is prevalent. They will watch you burn yourself out without a single thought. Lack of diversity within top leadership is embedded in the culture. Old-fashioned sensibilities are a staple at FM. Emotional Intelligence among the leadership is nonexistent. No Self-awareness, no Self-regulation, toxic motivation practices, zero Empathy and lack of Social skills. CULTURE: The low morale is widespread. You can sense the tension when going into the office. CEO approval is at all time low. Efforts to focus on Diversity and Inclusion, equality, and development is at all time low. Company Engagement Survey points out the same employee struggles and concerns year after year, yet nothing ever changes. Oh and if you quit, you will be considered Not Re-hirable; blacklist mentality. DEVELOPMENT: Lack of development opportunities. If you are not a manager, you will never be prompted to one at FM Global; even as a high performer. There is no transparency in relation to your professional growth.

Pros

* Great business model at the foundation * Solid compensation program: Base salary + bonus * Sustained high profitability over the long term * Stable employement * Pension Plan

Cons

* Extremely hierarchical and regimented * Promotions based on favortism rather than true merit. Employees are precategorized and stigmatized on their ability for future career progression. * Extremely focused on metrics and internal objectives. This leads to box checking, cutting corners and bending rules to meet the numbers. * Extremely heavy workload. No work-life balance. * Management doesn't really incorporate employee feedback; they pretend to to check a box. * Quality of job suffers to keep up with quantity. Everything is becoming data driven and the data is often wrong. Enormous pressure to hit a button and accept at face value whatever the system spews out. * Our CEO builds fancy gold plated office buildings that aren't needed and pulled the plug on hybrid work to justify the investment in the real estate.
