Pros
Salary and job location was much better than the one I was in when I received the offer. I was allowed to work in the company office that was very quiet during the day. Flexible schedule allowed me to avoid using PTO for many medical appointments. Got promoted after only 8 months with salary increase, bonuses and profitsharing.
Cons
SBIR company has only one year contracts. While I interviewed for several other jobs when my contract was coming to a close, I was turned down for every job I interviewed for. Company requires you to submit your timesheet weekly, not twice a month, and so company feels like a temp firm. Senior managers and higher get to keep their jobs, while junior level people are released when contract ends. No one in the company helped me find another job. Government client gave me very like work to do after finding that I had more than 5 years of experience. Government client wanted only junior level people on the contract.
