Pros
The branch level culture is usually pretty good. Robust internal continuing education system is in place. Promotions are from within, so good work is generally rewarded. In my experience, General/Branch Managers have been good.
Cons
Branch Op Manager has no real teeth and is a manager in title only. No direct reports, and final say is with the Branch Manager regardless of official responsibilities. Culture can vary drastically from store to store, district to district. The commission structure is regressive and can vary depending on the District Manager. There are competing incentive structures between various positions. One persons commission / incentive structure can be directly detrimental to another's. For example: corporate Business Sales Reps have financial / commission incentives that are detrimental and incongruent with a General Manager's financial / commission structure. Branch level sales commissions are also topped.
