      There are many opportunities to understand the entire process for accounting standards updates issuance and how to make a decision for any proposed changes to codification through various borad meetings. Also, CPAs can get CPE credits here when they participate the PD sessions.

      Cons

      there is no bonus except for compensation because it is a non-for-profit organization.

      It is a very flat organization so you get to work with a wide range of people at all levels. Opens up lots of doors if you want to leave.

      The work you do is on display for everyone to see who keeps up with financial accounting news.

      Great culture and meaningful work. Great and smart people to work with. Good benefit package. Rewarding work experience.

      Cons

      Parallel organizational structure is good for work collaboration, but is hard to advance into any leadership role. Sometimes work/life balance is not easy to achieve. Intense work and constant deadlines often demands a rather high level of stress.
