Pros
-Portland office culture is great -Direct managers shield teams from a lot of unnecessary overhead/pressure -Very collaborative/team focused. I learn tons of new skills and knowledge from my teammates every day -Encouraged to try new things and not restrained too much by what your title says -4 weeks PTO instead of 2 weeks PTO and 2 weeks sick-leave
Cons
-Will have to work frequently with remote teams (other US states & India) which can be very challenging -Lots of top-down requirements and process changes that development teams don't get enough of a voice in, all under the guise of "Agile" -May feel disconnected from much of the office since there are many separate projects in Portland that rarely interact -The company just got bought so many things are in-flux organizationally which can be very scary as a newer hire -Pay is lower than comparable jobs at other companies
