Pros
- They allow for a bit of a flexible schedule once it's been established that you'll get your work done. - Fairly casual office environment. - The vast majority of people who work there are friendly and pleasant to work with.
Cons
- Management is completely out of touch. - There is very little accountability when mistakes are made, and blame is often shifted to lower level employees. - There is a lack of respect from management towards the employees' time and expertise. - Pay and benefits are not competitive. - The company is structured in such a way that puts different departmental goals in frequent conflict. - The company is slowly offshoring almost everything to India, including development and testing. - There is no thinking about the future or quality. Corners are cut and things get rushed and then management acts surprised when a sub-par product is delivered to an upset client. - There was a period of months after a merger where people didn't know who their boss was or what the new internal structure was. - Employees are constantly asked to work extra hours or weekends for no compensation or recognition. - This is a software company that does not understand how to make quality software, only how to sell promises.
