Pros
People are friendly and enjoyable to work with. Projects are interesting and you get your hands dirty diving into different types of tech. Great learning opportunities and great people to learn from. Pay is decent.
Cons
I find it unsatisfying how the company markets itself as a hip startup where fun is encouraged, when it is nothing at all like that. It's more of a 9-5, heads down, eat lunch, heads down, go home. There have been pitches to have things like a ping pong table or games, but those have been shut down as a "distraction" to work. Company activities are also thought of as unnecessary. The philosophy behind this is that while we are at work, we should focus on work. Once it hits 5, please stop thinking about work and go home. This is fine and is great for employees who have families and kids to take care of, but I really do not think it goes with the "fun startup" vibe the company is trying to market. Out of all the companies I have worked at, I have the least emotional attachment to this one. I don't think it's just me either, because I see a lot of policies targeted towards retention problems.
