Pros

Salary and Benefits were good for years.

Cons

Over last 10 yrs salary increases were nonexistent and benefits were rolled back. Layoffs as the ¨company¨ will always show a profit for the shareholders regardless if the work requires extra people to do an efficient job/project. If a slight drop in profits will layoff within the following mid-quarter, can always expect layoffs in June and November every year. Layoffs happen to new employees as easy to do. But let long term employees go to save salary and benefits. The Finning ¨Family¨ is just a saying but never followed. If you put in 10-12 hours a day great when they need you, but if you cut back to the 8 hours a day they pay you for they want to know why work is not being done instead of getting help for the job.

Pros

Good and hard working employees for the most part, standard industry benefits and great business model for growth

Cons

Many changes within BP&S team in the past few months without leadership or strategic approach; Hiring and keeping expensive contractors instead of keeping knowledgable employees. The CIO acts as a bully and there is no oversight on his costly decisions and the chaos he has created. He was given the ultimate authority by the past leadership team and since they have left Finning, the new leadership team has not assessed CIO’s negative impact and outcomes so far. Moral is low and BP&S employees seem lost while the new CIO brings in more of his people on high paid roles and contracts.
