Pros
I loved my coworkers and my clients. The work was great and it was nice to see the positive impact we had on the community. The pay was also good.
Cons
I was told I would have plenty of training and guidance as needed. Onboarding was fine, but training sessions seemed random and not very comprehensive. All employees should receive the same trainings, but it seems that they are only provided as needed, or out of spite because someone might have made a small mistake. The CEO, Ms. Young, micromanages her supervisors to no end and speaks to them very disrespectfully. She is always calling last minute meetings and phone calls (that last forever) to yell and demand why something wasn’t done “right”. She is extremely rude and unprofessional to all of her employees and speaks down on them. There is absolutely no guidance or collaboration on how to resolve an issue or move forward. Ms. Young often made hurtful, discriminatory remarks towards employees of different backgrounds. Because many of us are bilingual, English may not be our first language, so any small miscommunication is confused for incompetence, bringing on more yelling. She also would often question our educational backgrounds and experience, implying that we were stupid and didn’t know what we were doing, instead of helping us learn and work together to solve the issues. On certain holidays where the office should have been closed, Ms. Young would not tell us until the last minute if we had the day off, and then made it seem like she was doing us a huge favor and being so kind and she would force people to thank her. It was ridiculously manipulative.
