Saying this objectively as I can - the current tech leads are terrible engineers and terrible managers. Everybody are fun to socialize with but work-wise, it's a terrible environment. They are using some new tech like GraphQL, but they are abusing it and not using it correctly. There is a very strong mentality of "I know everything" so there is little reason to take a step back once in a while to review how things are done and to make them better. I've encountered multiple instances of being verbally pummeled into silence by a potty mouthed tech lead for trying to raise different opinions about different issues. He actually admits that he talks people into submission. Basically gave up after a certain amount of tries. I wish them luck.
