Pros
Workloads and responsibilities are varied and interesting within the professional roles, reasonable salaries and good opportunities for progression.
Cons
Very hierarchical and old fashioned management, whilst some sectors within the business are trying to modernise, the majority of the business remains a traditional 'rural' firm of surveyors - if your face fits and you can rock a tweed jacket, you'll do fine, but there's very little diversity within the company, most professionals being white, conservative voting and ex public school. The company culture and values are definitely 'niche'! Management in my experience was unsupportive and self-interested, with ideas often overlooked or highjacked. The support staff within the business are very undervalued and underpaid and the turnover seems high.
